There will be minor damage to the aluminum but some coarse steel wool or 400 grit sandpaper should do the trick.
Just be sure to replace the masters gasket/diaphragm before repaint.

As for the spots in the tank, just tell everyone they're bullet holes......

Well, I went to take something off the 86, grabbed a 10mm socket, then seen another 10mm bolt head, took that off, that went on for a few hours
Anyone need any parts from an 86, if I don't end up needing them I'll be looking to get rid if them
Ended up like this

The 89, I'll first, change the oil/gas/brake fluids/plugs, the plug wires and boots look fairly new, the plugs too except there's some carbon on the tip when I pulled one, so replacing can't hurt, I'll try doing the fluids this week or weekend,
I'll also make sure my spare tank is free of rust then change it out maybe. Then I can clean and paint the existing one
I'm thinking if going solid black in everything, unless the wife has some other idea

I'm also going to integrate the turn signals into the fairing, in place of the police lights that were there.
Is there a good place for signals in size par36

for the 89, removed some of the police specific stuff from the saddle bags, left the wiring, wont be having a radio in there, so may as well strip the radio wiring on it, not sure if i need to pull the tank to get it all out.
rear brakes dont work, had no fluid, I filled it up, but it still does nothing, I'm hoping to figure that out tomorrow maybe. does it have to be running for the blinkers?
no place really local for plugs, so I will have to order some, in the meantime I pulled them and just cleaned them a bit, not sure what that will do for it

for the 86 I went and stripped some more stuff off, decided to drain the oil, the oil plug came out fine but the filter bolt will not budge, any suggestion?

Bled the rear brakes on it, now they work, ride around the neighborhood, no problems, I'll try to figure a way to set my phone to record

It sure don't seem to like staying in gears very long
