Ok the forged slugs are on the way, so here is my question. Is there anything I need before I throw the long block together that I may be forgetting? Other than the rods and pistons it's all staying the same in the bottom end.

Are you having the rods checked out,are you getting everything balanced?

Once the pistons arrive everything will go out to get balanced and checked out.

Picked up the new (to me) bike today. 1983 KZ550 LTD, pretty decent condition. Runs and rides for $500 just needs a little TLC!

Leave it alone, haha! I'll probably just get different bars, seat, header, and swap the wire wheels from the 650 over and be done. I bought it to ride this year so it won't see any downtime

sounds like a solid plan .

although i prefer the mags .
