Decided on the Garrett GT2052 after a little bit of math stuff. The two red dots on the map represent airflow @7500 and @12000 through an air to air intercooler, 2 valve head @80% VE, and 75 Degrees outside. Sits pretty good on the map, and should net 200hp at the crank. :)

how much does the air to air heat exchanger add?
lets say on a air cooled 1045 with gpz 1100 DFI fuel injection
lumpy cams dyna ig
or what would hp gain be on a stock 750 turbo
looks like a lot of work for a unknown gain
also i like it the way it is
actually i love it

Intercooling is a great way to improve the density of the air. here is the same chart with the green dots simply removing the air to air intercooler. Would take roughly 7# of boost to make up for the lost density, and is throwing this charger way off the map. Also with a cooler intake charge you are far less prone to detonation, and not to mention heat on these air cooled engines.

A much cleaner looking way to intercool would be water\meth injection, of course you have an added tank and controller. Remember these are simply estimates, and there is no way I can determine exactly what will happen.

Cant wait to check out this build. I use to have quite a few 650s back when i was around 16. Looks like you choose a good guy to help you with the work(les). He made my swingarm and custom made bushings for everthing, not to menton the frame bracing. Thanks again les, everything is working great. All this talk about the 650s and gpzs, make me want to buy another one. looks like this is going to be one mean 650. If your needing any engine work done that les dosent do, I would give john pearson from pearson racing. He does excellent work.

My biggest problem up until now is oil scavenging from the turbo. Will the 750 turbo pump fit on the 650 case? Any other ideas?

Edit: Found this dude, would probably do the job. Only problem is the $399 price tag!

750 turbo motor has a scavange pump on the left side of the case, not the same case as the kz650 . It would be very easy to just put a turbo 750 motor in a 650 fame , thats what most do for your application , Then you could make it a 810 turbo. 8:1 comp.
