Yep!!! It gets nice and twisty just north of Wilhoit. I love it on the GSXR. The 30 year old tires on the Superbike just won't cut through there!!!! Wish I could swing for a set of Avons for the Superbike. There ain't much runoff room all the way through the twisty bits. I would be sick if I crashed the Superbike. I can't afford it either. It really sucks living on a budget. A tiny one at that.

hei Dr. missed all the last posts, but glad to hear that the beast is back to health
i know you are doing everything on a shoestring so instead of the mega expensive avon race tires, you might want to consider racing Heidenaus. Here in europe lots of people use them and i heard they are being imported to the states now.
switched now in my gpz550 from a racing AM20 to a racing HEIDENAU K44 RSW and couldnt be happier.

crashing on old tires is not smart :)

Been cleaning up in my work area. I gathered up all the plugs I have had in my KZ since I started it up with fresh motor. It was STONE RICH when I fired it up for the first time as you can see from the first plug on the left. As I dropped the jets, and changed to different needles, and air correction jets you can see how the plug color started to get lighter, and lighter as I got closer to being right on on the jetting. I started running out of new plugs so I started just changing one plug instead of all four between jet changes.!!! I hate living on a budget. I had my CR's off and on my bike something like 15 times!!!! The very last plug on the right has about 75 miles on it at high speeds. I did a plug chop on that last plug too!!! I think I am pretty close by the color. I am leaving it for now!!!!

Been getting bored not be able to ride anymore, plus its starting to get a little cooler here in Az today. I found me a new place to buy titanium fasteners. They actually have gone down in price since the last time I bough some years ago. Since I sold one of my diecast cars, I bought me some fancy new nuts and bolts!!!!

In just seven bolts and three nuts I saved 5.90 ounces over the steel fasteners I replaced!!

They sure are pretty!!!

I also replaced the stock steel steering stem bolt with a aluminum one from Yoshimura. That alone saved 1.1 ounces.

Unlike spending my extra cash sitting in a bar, or packing my nose with cocaine, I got something to show for it at the end of the day.

Sure are pretty to look at!!!

Going to sell some more diecast cars, and get some more of those shiny objects for my Kz!!

Where did you find the Yoshimura Steering Stem Bolt? I can't find any place that offers a Z1/KZ bolt. Is that one intended for a newer model? Any idea which one?
