yea leon its nice to finally hear it. man i was happy when i heard it crank over when i was checking my wiring. Im waiting on some por15 tank liner and im gonna have to bite the bullet on a new petcock. i just ran some fuel in there from the little bike just to see what would happen. I promise a running video once I get the tank on and get the carbs sorted out. hopefully a week or 2

Alright guys it been a while since my last update, and I know I promised a running video but......
I was starting to tune the carbs when I noticed one was way off. Turns out #2 was at like 50psi and the rest were 125. Did a leak-down and found intake valve was leaking. BTW these foam tubes fit perfectly when the jugs are out. I sent the head out and just got it back last night, lookin sweet
still waiting on a flex hone and some other bits, anyone ever use snap rings or equivalent in place of those stupid circlips?

yea Patton I looked into those a little bit, and I havn't seen them available for stock pistons. I dunno, just seems like its getting harder and harder to find circlips. they're not on z1e.com but I called and they only had 17. now they have 9 haha. I have reused them before but on motors that, lets just say, were "less important"

ok Its been a while but I havn't stopped on this thing. For 1 it is now a 2002 kz1000p frame. I ditched the old frame and picked up this very nice titled frame. It set me back pretty far in terms of finish date but it will be much nicer and safer. 2 im gonna be doing major surgery for this R6 ass end. I've already moved the cross bar that once held the center-stand, the chain hit. I'm also totally redesigning the monoshock mount with some trick tubular pieces, and im lowering the swingarm pivot point. I know I asked what I should do and most everyone said to leave it and run a slider but I couldnt see myself being happy with the end results. More work but again, should be much nicer in the end

also scored some brand new michelins on rims for $80. will post pics later

Hi Dave, I own this bike, it's in British Columbia Canada. I bought it from a guy in whistler, I can try and find out who built the seat for you, if you are still interested

Nivels, that would be awesome!! I'm still quite a ways away from finishing this bike, but I havn't quit by any means. I'm going to make a seat pan after everything is mounted and done, and if that guy can put a similar skin on mine it would be the icing on the cake.
A little update though, I decided to revise the rear ride height to a lower position. This gave me the chain clearance I needed and actually gave the bike a better look, I think. The mono-shock mount is done along with the battery and electronics pan. the kickstand and rear brake setup is nearing completion too. It's been a slow process but The work is 10x better on this frame.
