The colour will be a tri-colour red very similar to the original, maybe a little darker though. I am getting the orginal pin stripes made locally at a friends shop. But what I am going to try to do is get them to make a side cover decal that ties the tank and tail section together. I always felt there should have been one. Almost like they forgot to make it. Both pinstripes lead to the side cover but go to nothing.
It will look sharp.

Yeah the side covers would pop a lot better with the deals on them as well.

I was going to paint it similar to my avitar, which is the prototype colours for the original kz7500 1967, before kawi decided to bump up the cc's to compete with the cb750.
Got the paint laid down today, my painter and I had a difficult time findind a good similar colour to the original. The Kawaski vintage iluminous red is way to dark. We went with a european ford red tri colour. here are some of the pics during paintting. the base is a copper silver colour, looks salmon colour to me.

i cant take mine to the corner store even, without meeting folks who had one,or have always wanted one, or have some brother-friend-uncle years back..or had a rd or cb ,gs......on and on.....yours is set to be unreal

this is what makes this site so special....these bikes get done..guys like you take a basket bike and know where it is heading and set to it....other sites are all talk or cookie cutter bikes....
