That will make my buddy's day - he's supposed to be doing this with me, only shooting for the Lightweight Superbike and he picked up an 82 or 83 CB450 Twin Hawk for his bike.

Yeah, he's shooting for something closer to $1000. Got a good runner for $250.

It just so happens that I have the previously mentioned 86 zx10 fork sitting in my storage building if someone building a vintage racer were interested. I have forks, trees, brakes, wheel, and all. Just sayin.

If Tri didn't pull the trigger, drop me a pm. Too bad, I was down enjoying your nice weather and even a tour of Saint Arnold's last week. If we'd had more time/a rental car I would have dropped you a line.

Sorry I didn't respond faster, training for my new position at work has me so busy right now. I'm sending you both pm's about this fork. Please respond there if you are still interested.

Thanks!
Back to the bike, hoping to have some time tomorrow to start stripping it down and examining things. Hoping to get all the peripheral items off the frame and getting the head off to check on the condition of the 2nd cylinder, as that is where the rust appears to have been growing...

Dissection Begins
I started taking things off of the bike today. She really is in bad shape.
First gift – a spark plug which would not come out. Never had one break at the threads before…
It also appears that someone was “fixing” the wiring. Good thing I will be rewiring the whole bike from scratch.
The seat pan is showing some signs of sitting in the elements. Hopefully it’s not too bad and I can clean it up and make a racing seat from it. If not, I know a guy who has been playing with laying carbon fiber who could probably give me some pointers.
I got the cam cover off and things look decent so far - I'm going to have to wait to get the head off as the weekend is busy with other things.
