Yeah, I've been through Portland a few times in my day. We used to vacation in Port Aransas A LOT when I was a kid. My folks always drove down 181 from San Antonio, and I always remember that when you take the turn onto 35 and hit Portland it's the first glimpse of Corpus Christi Bay. It was a big deal to smell the salt in the air when I was a kid.

Now, my wife and I like to stay at Drifters so we can hit Rockport or CC/Port A easily. We pass through Portland at least once a year going to CC.

haha yeah its ol corpus christi. i dont go to the beach much i like to go east more than anything. i like how alot of the trees are up there its nice. corpus is gettin bad with all the wanna be gangbangers around now. rockport beach is really nice just sucks you have to pay to get on it. but as well for the kz im going to start putting it back together i have all the parts to do so but i work in the oilfeild and its hard to get a chance to. lol

Was your frame very pitted with rust spots? If I have to rebuild my engine (90k), I am powder coating the frame.

No rust spots at all!! i was surprised.. only rust was on the swingarm because the battery leaked at one time and got acid on the paint and ate it off. 90k? geezeee mines only got like 36 i think.
