update.

Frame and other parts are still in powdercoating should be done next week sometime and i should be able to start the build. i have ordered all original rubber gromets for the bike now i need to order a rear brake rod. wanted to get that rear lester mag on ebay but couldnt believe how much it went for. and the front fetched a pretty penny also. more soon to come.

everything rusts down here in south texas lol. my dad says the same things and hes got a 78 kz 1000 and hes one to talk he put mags on his bike lol idk we will see ill get some more pics

Gona be nice. Got 1 just like it. If you haven't already. Go with the tapered roller bearings in the steering stem. Makes a big difference!

Cool project! Keep up the good work. Where ya at in South Texas? I have lived all over, roughly around I10. Currently north of Houston in Spring.

Weird thing you said that, when i pulled it apart it already had those, im guessing someone already changed it.. i think this bike was wrecked before.

Thats cool! ill be at a motocross track in north houston next week called rio bravo!! i live in portland tx, just north of corpus christi like 10 miles away from it.

Yeah, I've been through Portland a few times in my day. We used to vacation in Port Aransas A LOT when I was a kid. My folks always drove down 181 from San Antonio, and I always remember that when you take the turn onto 35 and hit Portland it's the first glimpse of Corpus Christi Bay. It was a big deal to smell the salt in the air when I was a kid.

Now, my wife and I like to stay at Drifters so we can hit Rockport or CC/Port A easily. We pass through Portland at least once a year going to CC.
