So I popped down to the guys who are making my yokes. They are a proper outfit and mainly specialise in ultra-hi performance air bearings industries.

Just so happens that the guy who runs it is a serious bike head with all a custom Buell and R1 with seriously amazing machined trickery all over the place.

Anyway, he had this to show me as rough example of what I will get - anodised in Black just how I want mine!

This is a top yoke so is less beefy.

Has intricate pockets for lightweight.

I was blown away by the quality of his work - and I am very fussy.

These have a 17mm drop but are exactly what I'm after - an OEM factory look. He can add in all kinds of cool things like clock mount tabs, detachable riser bar mounts and even laser etching.

My own yokes will be ready in a month or so - they are won't be cheap but I think it;s the only proper way to go. He also suggested if I didn't like the drawings of the 2" drop I requested, we could do 1" on the yokes and then 1" fork extenders too. He said MotoGP teams use his fork extenders all the time.

Ask for Phil.

That is a very pretty top triple :) You have obviously though alot about what you wnat and need for your front end with regards to rake/trail/ride hight. Is your machinest also adding more offset in the yokes for tank to fork clearance, or have you already accepted a wider turning radius? Your bike should look pretty trick when it's done ;)

I do like the wheels too, if I could find a wire wheel hub for a single sided swingarm, I'd take a harder look at 'em B)

Single sided swingarms shred - but they ain't Zed!

You gotta have those chunky twin-shocks to keep the Zedness in there.

There is a very classy look to wire wheels.....once my bike is back on the road, I'll start liking for a single sided hub. I get the Z look from the body lines, shapes and proportions. The single sided swingarm is just a more unique take on a monoshock conversion. I accept my bike isn't as pure a build as some would like B) I do like where you're going with your build though. I'm watching along with everyone else ;)

Cheers.

I'm totally keeping the headlamp?

The twin shocks are as important as the tail and tank for me - I also thought about monoshock but in the end decided against it.

I just ordered a pair of 320mm wavey discs with gold centres - the price was an absolute disgrace.

I've been waiting for this thread to take off. Looks like the calvary just arrived. Top work as usual, Ratch. I like the machine work on that clamp. Quite a bit of 3-D profiling going on underneath that clamp. That's a good sign of quality work. He took the time to profile underneath, where no-one would ever see it. 3-D profiling is very time consuming.

Leon (531blackbanshee) must have more KZ related picks than anyone I know. Let's test him out. Got any picks of a ski-doo with KZ body work?
