You're right kenty, no one says how difficult it can be to work with these materials. Your material troubles were compounded by using precision cut pieces that needed to fit together properly for aesthetics. It takes a considerable amount of effort to hand finish an overlay like that, but good work, excellent perseverance and congratulations on learning something new ;)

wow , is it really 6 years ago that i started this ...... quite a lot has changed again .... i stripped the paint off the frame and went for a more conservative metallic black this time , and a change of colour scheme while i was at it ....... an update on the filter manifold i made . excellent running ,smoother than i could have imagined on pick up .... i also changed the rear swingarm for an aftermarket Metmachex item , originally made for a GPZ 1100 twin shock , i made a new linkage and modified it to monoshock , however i did leave the shock mounts on ,so at any time i could run twin shocks if i wanted to ..

at the moment it's stripped again for a good clean up and possibly another colour change , i modified a spare tank with twin fillers , just to make it different .... the jury is still out on the colour scheme .and i have some later forks from a GSXR 1000 to replace the TL1000 forks with the stuck rebound adjuster ...

a little some thing i did to make an hydraulic clutch , i wanted a bolt in item so i didn't have to weld the original casing . made from a piece of solid ally that i had sitting on the shelf . using a slave cylinder available on ebay . i had to make a longer steel end for the clutch push rod .
