the front needed a frame rail for the lower engine mount so i cut it a little long and knocked it up into place ,this opened the frame a bit , :woohoo: more clearance cant be a bad thing

all that was left to do was the rear mount , the box section was already in from the previous motor so i made another removeable mount that simply bolts in place

this is the mount , the angle section takes all the weight of the motor and with the mounts removed the motor is real easy to remove

just to be on the safe side i ground some small flats inside the lower rails for a bit more clearance , the lower hole in the frame pic was welded up later because the gpz motor doesn't have the side mounts

i decieded to use usd forks off a TL1000 but these are a bit short to bolt straight on and i couldnt afford any stepped yokes so i did something a little different . i got a spare bottom yoke and cut the lock stops and stem off flush

you might wonder where this is going , my idea was the botton yoke is much thicker than the original and with the lower side machined to sit over the top bearing the forks can be pushed through the yokes and still be gripped by the same amount as the original top yoke

i didnt take too much off at first but i tried em on the bike and the idea works a treat so i thinned the yoke down to the same thickness as the original and due to the size of the yoke i've gained over an inch in fork length

i cut the stem off so i had a ready made spacer to machine to machine to fit the top of the TL stem , i also cut some flats to mount the ktm risers onto
