My '79 MKII project

dude i spent all day next to one...they are kinda cool....i always dug old kz's but this'n is growing on me...you have a perfect base to build a nice one.....keep posting.....craig

when it comes to pulling the engine on these does it slide out the side or is there a trick to it?

i bet the cam cover and carbs being off would help...mine is a tight fit to remove the cover.....once the carbs are down the cover comes towards where they were and is easy...then i always lift kz's out the kick stater side as the kicker makes a great one hand lift and steer while some one else puts lifts and nudges on the stator cover....imo

well I was trying to avoid it but it looks like it's time to replace the fuel lines, get rid of the inline petcock (was there when I got it)replace the fuel filter and get all my electronics on order when I get paid again. Against the better judgement of my mechanic on not riding it again till I get it sorted out, I rode it to church and the main line clogged up, so I ran it on reserve the rest of the way there. I can't find them on Z1enterprise.com but I also need the gasket that goes between the carbs and motor. Can anybody help?

i have extra...they are decent and if you need em you can have em....

also....they can be found used on auctions all the time..for about 20-30...imo...but i have four sets... ones yours if you want em...

email sent. Thanks tri. I got a msg from the guy I got the exhaust from he said he'll ship them tuesday because UPS is closed monday. Nice to know some people have the courtesy to let you know about this stuff.

these are the ones you need right...it looks like this basically,,,,,,they are called intake boots....yours are cracked???

mine actually look like gaskets. can't get a picture of it ATM but i'll get one. Looks like a paper gasket between the engine and intake boot

looked and the boots are cracked at the cap plugs heres the picture of the gasket I was talking about

cool i am sending you mine off the same yr model tuesday with clamps and everything i just look at em and they will be fine......send me the junk set back so i'll have a 79 set.....deal....what size t-shirt you wear...i gotta wrap em in somthing,,,,,

you'll have mine by friday if that helps you plan..i HAVE to mail some long put off stuff to folks on tuesday ...i bet by saturday they will arrive at the latest....yours may not be sooo bad but....having these right there will help...are you gonna pull the bowls off the carbs and try and spray em out super good and sit for s few then re spray.. with a few cans of carb spray and compressed air?????

or are you gonna pull the jets and do a real thorough jobber...
