While you have the forks slapped on there... Place your tank on for bar rotations... Due to increased for widths, chances are you'll have to shift your tank back ~ 1"...

Nows the time to fab up the new mounting for the tank back an inch translates to the seat and rear tail section moving back an inch as well....

Or modify the bar stop where you have a decreased turn radius... Not the ideal way to go but others went this route due to "Oh crap, didn't think of that" and all other work such as powder coating where already accomplished...DOH!

Just a thought...

Josh ol buddy ol pal, the rear wheel is stock Speed Triple '08-'10. Those stainless brake lines are worth 1/3 of what I paid for the entire front clip

Leon, Mark, I take full responsibility for any damages I have caused. Send me the bill for your keyboards and pants. I'll just lump it inn with my own cleaning bills

And OMR, where were you during the swingarm installation thread in the chassis forum? I thought for sure you'd chime in on my thread there being a SSSA fan, but alas, I was deprived of your wisdom during that part of my build :( You are spot on with the turning radius/tank interference, In fact, one reason I'm aware of it is due to your fork swap tutorial ;)
There is anothe member here (irishwill) that is working on prototype gullwing triple clamps with a stock KZ offset. The triples should alow stock turning radius and ride hight (if so desired). Thats the plan for now anyways! Otherwise, I'll need to perform the tank/seat relocation. I'd rather not dent my tank

I know EXACTLY what you mean :woohoo: The copper colored uppers with the black sliders looks bad ass. The only thing that would make it look even better would be 6 piston radial calipers B) The new front should compliment the new rear nicely. Maybe later today, I'll pull out the jig and put the swingarm, tank and tail back on for a pic witht he forks.....

This one is for you DoubleDub :)

My total expenditures to date for my build:

SSSA- $230 (salvage yard)
shock linkage- $30 (salvage yard)
rear wheel- $200 (salvage yard)
R6 rearsets- $41 shipped (ebay)
custom outboard bearing support- $110 shipped (irishwill)
06 GSXR1000 front clip- $160 (craigslist)
materials- $110 (local metal supply yard)

Total investment for the frame/suspension upgrades to-date =

$881

Considerably more than alot of guys here spend on parts for their builds, but reasonable in my estimation for the benefits B)

I couldn't resist slapping the body work and swingarm back on the frame to see how it looks. It's shots like this that help keep me on track and focused on finishing. It also helps to confirm that I've made good choices, or at least followed good advice ;)

Good to hear that the wheel is a stock Speed Triple item. That will make your life easy when it comes time to find a front. Smokin' deal on the front forks. Looks good.
