porchev914, I'm impressed with your building skills to say the least. I'm a big fan of under tail exhaust and would like to see you work it out. Here is a pic I have of a nice system for your consideration....

That particular Z has a turbo mounted under the seat and fuel injectors hidden inside the carb bodies....

Thanks Mark - I'll start splitting the build up into their respective sections and keep the project posts less detailed. I'm sure there is a way to link the forum posts together, right? :)

I haven't forgotten about you Larry, I'm still getting the parts together to send you my head, but my new (to me) SSSA temporarily set me back. As for bluemeanie's ride, I never would have known! I'll have to be content with a slower Z ......for now... ;)

I love all those bikes Mark and Larry! The green Ausie bike was something I only found after I decided to do a SSSA, and I was mulling over the idea of an under tail exhaust. But after I saw the Ausi bike I was sold :woohoo: The other bikes I had not seen before, Thanks guys! And yes, Mark, I should have told everyone following here that I was separating the build into appropriate sub forums. Sorry!

The frame jig and SSSA installation will be continued under the Chassis Forum: Frame Jig and SSA installation (forgot the third "S" )

Actually, Larry and I have spoke on that bike on several occassions now... Just freaking beautiful, world class build... ;)

I must agree OMR, the Ausies that built the green bike are first class mechanical artisans! I would count myself lucky if my build turns out a tenth as good as theirs! :cheer:

I haven't posted to this thread in a couple weeks since I've been laboring in the Chassis forum, but I have some pics to post that are in the project theme. I was able to pick up my cylinder, head and valve cover today from getting cleaned :cheer: J&P did a bang up job just as they did on my cases:

Here I tossed the parts together on the bench to see how pretty it'll look when together. I must say, for the total cost of $115, it was worth it to have J&P clean 32 years of grime and oxidation off! :woohoo:
