But Mark, a front sssa might further upset our "stock is best" flag waving friends  I have a backyard idea on how to do it, I just need a few more tools, and another bike, and some more money, and to get rid of the Porsche. I don't have a basement full of custom bikes like some here ;)

I gotta say, I'm digging the purple wheels and the antlers! :P as far as the paint goes, I have been thinking about going for a wwII fighter theme, i.e. P51 mustang. Put the USAAF white star/blue circle w/white bars on the side covers, paint the front third of the tank like a checkered flag, two tone the rest of the tank and tail with silver on the bottom and frame (undecided on top color), keep the wheels black, but put two thin white stripes around the end of each spoke to mimick the tip stripes on a propellor, and tastefully safety wire exposed nuts and bolts like any aircraft engine. That's my idea anyway! :cheer:

Adam, to continue in your airplane theme, I think that you should mount the rear seat backwards, and install a double Ma Deuce back there. That way the Queen can be your tailgunner. I bet that would cut down on tailgaters. Nothing says back the F off like a little 50 cal. cover fire!

Seriously, though, are you up to your ears in diapers or what? No progress pics in a solid week. When is Irishwill supposed to get you that top clamp? I'm ready to see some frame bracing. Hows that for motivation.

I'm not up to my ears in diapers....yet. I'm just up to my shoulders at the moment  I like the idea of the Mrs being my tail gunner  Even the 5 oh's would think twice about gettin' behind me :P I snet Irishwill a pm earlier just to see how things were comming. I know the guy is busy in school, plus a few other things in his life are taking up time, so I don't wanna pressure him. I had picked up a spare KZ bottom triple a couple months ago (4.99 on ebay) and I removed the stem from the triple yesterday. I'm contemplating installing it in the stock GSXR triple, that way I can have the forks mounted if it takes irishwill longer than he thinks to get the prototypes designed and machined. I have also been messing with my rearsets and trying to figure out how and where best to mount them. As far as the bracing goes, I've done some removal of no longer necessary brackets/tubes, and I need to aquired some different size tubing and sheet metal for the bracing. I'll post some pics later on for you guys, my thread is getting too boring

Well fellas, I called PMFR and got a quote for a custom offset counter sprocket. $400+   Their sprockets are CNC'ed from a solid piece of steel. I think the guy I talked to heard the surprise in my voice, and told me to contact D&G for a cheaper, TIG welded sprocket. I called D&G, and they quoted me $135, with a 1 week turn around. These prices were for an 18 tooth 530 sprocket.

So the question I have is: Is the runout on the welded sprocket enough to worry about versus a single piece sprocket design? The single piece is preferred, but at 66% cheaper, the D&G sprocket is much less damaging to my wallet. Who has experience with the welded sprockets and can tell me the cons? Thanks guys.

If they weld it before they machine it then there will be no difference.

I'd hope their work would be good if they're charging $135 for a freaking sprocket.
