Leon, the punch belonged to my Dad. I don't know why he had it. I never saw him use it. I found it when cleaning out his garage after he passed. I guess you could say that I have got his money's worth out of it. Thanks Dad. It's perfect for punching holes in thin sheet metal and making little carb gaskets for go karts and such.

Here's a link to the manufacturer:
roperwhitney.com/punching/2-45.cfm

I think mine is the #5 junior kit. Seems that it has dies for 1/16"-9/32" IIRC.

Yeah, that little punch should outlive me. It's well made, and the one I have can't be that old. It came in one of those blow molded plastic cases.

I shouldn't need any motivation, but I do. It seems all my contemporaries have decided to take a hiatus from their projects. I sense that Ted is rolling, and Adam will be once he gets some free time. Tyler should be back from Germany soon, I think. Anyway, where's your progress pics?

oh right in the solarplexus dang!

i haven't been quite the same photographer since the ol collarbone dealio :X.

although the project has been moving along it has been in the money spending stages and i did not figure pictures of my empty wallet would be very motivational.

we have moved into the measuring and planning stages.

i don't know about down there in "extreme southern oklahoma"(didn't oklahoma annex texas):P down there where you stays, but in northeast oklahoma where i stays i have had a hard time getting acclimated to the weather change this year.

i think if i stripped down and laid out in the yard i might get in the winter mood :woohoo: .

i have my shop cleaned up,the wood stove is working i have wood piled up.i need to order the zx12r rotors and then it is all on me to make it all work.

i was off last week and went to horror frieght and bought one of those little $89.00 air compressors to use because the one in the little shop(read ryder box )developed a horrible rattling knocking noise that i was sure had thrown a rod or junked a main bearing.
wellz on the way home i was needing to get across three lanes to get to my exit(cause all highways in tulsa are under construction)and in doing so blew passed a leo in an unmarked charger(i hate mopars  anyway)and he wrote me a nice little $200.00 ticket for 72mph in a 55mph zone, nice :( .

then i got home and put the little compressor in service and pulled the belt guard off my old one and the flywheel was loose  .i did not let that slow me down because i was convinced that there was something wrong in the motor.well after i tore down and inspected the motor(without ruining the gaskets :) )and found absolutely nothing wrong.i thought okay you need to go set down and think about this.after twenty minutes on the couch wondering what the hell could be making that horrible knocking noise, the light came on.
aw f_(K,the rattling noise was the loose flywheel,

sonufa.

i'm a freaking idiot.
so i went and put the compressor back together and left the flywheel loose and plugged it in,yep there is the rattle.unplug it,tighten the flywheel.plug it back in,no rattle.

awesome

i just wasted a day and $320.00 when i could have stayed home and started working on my compressor and had it fixed and be 3 hunsky ahead.

i don't know,he!! maybe texas annexed oklahoma and i haven't heard yet,hahahahahahahaha.jj

i will get some pictures and become a productive member of the project forum again,i swear  .

Talk about taking two kicks to the baby makin' parts and a blow to the ego. It seems there are few things worse than spending money to replace somethine when there's nothing really wrong with it, you just assumed (with a vast wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from) you know its dying and replace it proactively. But to get a ticket in the process is just insult to injury :silly:

Damn, Leon. Some days you're the dog, and other's you're fire hydrant. Being reminded of your mortality this year? It's motherf'r, I know.

It has only gotten below freezing two nights that I can recollect down here in South Oklahoma.

we have already had several pretty good frosts.
it has been getting up warm enough to ride during the day but it is dark by the time i get home  .
i am not to hip on this daylight savings time crap.i would rather drive to work in the dark and have some more light in the evening time.
i seem to be full of it today so maybe this evening i can get some pictures,or actually get some real work done :silly: .
we will see.
