listening to a local chef on my morning radio show driving home... kinda smart hippie guy with a nice place in Santa Cruz...he's on the morning show a few minutes each week...they got side tracked talking about good food that cures stuff too...his premise was about nature containing the antidote to all natural ailments...unpasturized honey dabbed on a bee sting ...cures the toxin with the bee's own anti venom......

natural wine grapes seed extract pills ...cures allergy flare ups and will stop snoring?????

then he said when his workers get sick he chops up some fresh ginger root and makes a paste with some melted butter and gives everyone a tablespoon to fight down....knocks the colds out and stops the transfer from employee to employee........

well Amy had been sore throat and sniffles bad for a week and i was starting to feel the back of my throat get really sore that very morning....

with nothing to lose we got a fresh ginger and ate some slices and then used a bunch to marinate a steak too...little more fresh chopped up the next morning....

maybe it's all in the mind...but i felt better and she is not sick anymore.........fresh chopped ginger....he says it cleans the bugs out....

on the brake lines nice work...where did you get em and did you measure the lines length and they made em that length...how much...hows the quality....WDBA? i need to get a set for the front on the MKII and one in the back.....hope you feel better....

Thanks for the info Tri, and yes I'm on the upswing. I ordered the brake lines from Z1E here: www.z1enterprises.com/catalog.aspx?pid=KZ1000-A2-1978-WB1

Basically the banjo ends have a flare fitting that screws onto the brake hose. You can select the bend that you need, and then just pick out the length of line that matches your setup. The ends are all 1.5" long, so measure your existing line and subtract 3" to know which hose to order. Or, if all else fails, measure your lines and call Z1E. All together I spent about $120 for three hoses and six ends. I'm very pleased with the quality. Z1E offers them in clear, black, and colorflex (whatever that is.)

Well, I did a little work on my right side rearset today. I'm not quite there yet, but it's very close to being done.

I also did a little work on making a straight thru baffle. I want to see if I can increase the volume a little. More pictures to follow.

I just had a hairbrained idea to add some grip to my footpegs. I got a piece of 22ga. the other day in preparation for building a new exhaust baffle. I have one of those punches that puts really clean 1/8" holes in sheetmetal. What if I cut out a piece of the 22ga. then perforated it all over and used it to wrap the top of the peg? Just weld it in place over the top of the existing tube. Maybe paint it with some of that textured anti-slip paint. Ideas?

Probably. I made 'em so that the trashed GSXR pegs would fit. That has always been my plan B. If all else fails, I'll just order an ebay set of GSXR footpegs.

I think an ebay pair would save u a lot of time and look good in the end. they dont have to be GSXR"s but there are so many good choices for little money, it seems like an easy fix.
it would be hard to get away from the home made look without some serious input of time and money .

Ha Ha. I know. I take no offence, even if you don't like them. I just thought I would take the opportunity to wallow in my own self pity for comedic purposes. I'm hoping to keep it light over here.

Yes, I could easily buy a set of GSXR replacement pegs, but by the same token, I could have bought a set of rear sets as well. Why would anyone go to the trouble of making their own rearsets? Who knows, I don't even understand myself. I don't expect anyone else to understand my motivations. I guess it's an artistic thing, or maybe evil genious.

I made this from a pile of 1/8" steel plate. Why not make my own footpegs.
