KZ650 Cafe' project
08 Aug 2009 21:55
Hey all, thought some of you 650 fans would have a place to fill my head with ideas. I have this 1979 KZ650 that I would like to Cafe and upgrade. this might be a slow project, but it will be worth it in the end i thinkB)
this is what it looked like when i got it home
the first thing i did is go through the carbs
here's what they look like now with new 117.5 mains, air adj. Idle, and new needle and seats
While i'm going through the bike, the main thing i'm having troble with is figuring out how to do the tail section. I have already gotten rid of the crome fender. (It was damaged anyway) Does anyone now a good source for cafe' kits or parts.

got the carbs installed, and she fired right up. now, about the nasty air system they have on these things. has anyone just taken a hose to connect the two together and bypass the hole thing? If i just leave it alone with nothing on the end, wont it suck air too, or does it just push air out?

Yes, you can run a heater hose from port to port on the valve cover. Make sure you plug the hole in the air box if you are using it.

I've got a valve cover off a 77 b1 that doesn't have the nasty air system. It'll bolt right up and give you a cleaner look. PM me if you're interested, we can work something out.
