I got a new job today so work can commence on the bike. I will probably press the stem when i go to pick up my box on Monday. Then it will be some cutting and welding (have to work on my welding skills)

Made some progress since I have a job again I have access to a press again so I Got the stem press together. I will take some pics of that when I take it back aprt to put the locking bolt in it. I then sat the bike on the ground and set the tank where I wanted it angle and center wise same with the seat. Then I got to sit on it and make bike noises.

Does anyone have a zx7 or 9 speedo drive they would like to get rid of. I need one to make the frontend complete.

I have added a new shock to replace the pos gpz shock. I found with the new forks being shorter that I need to lower the rear end some. So I did some research and found that an 06 Yam r6 shock was a good match. Its got all kinds of turny things

and ive also began making a rear hugger from an old 82 gpz tail section. I thought it would kinda carry on the new school old school theme. And it would solve a problem for free. as I'm going for a open look with velocity stacks I didn't want the tire to kick something into the carbs.

I couldn't see where you were going with this at first ... but now it's coming through. Pretty cool. Nice work.

how about more info on the swingarm year of it specifically. Also what did you do to make the swingarm fit besides the engine clearance issue that you are having?

this is a 2005 gsxr 600/750 swing arm. I only have to get some shims for the pivot side to side. I took the inner sleeve out of my gpz swingarm pivot and it slides right into the gsxr pivot then you use the stock pivot bolt. The shims that I need are factory gsxr shims. There are 1 on each side stock, in order to make it work in the gpz frame you need 3 on each side. Then I used the stock gpz rocker and mounted the R6 shock to even out the stance. I did have to make a couple of spacers for the rocker too.

well I have been doing a little bit here and there. I have the front tank mounts installed. To do this I took a bolt cut the head and the threads off and welded 2 washers to each end then welded the whole assembly to the frame. Not the prettiest welds but I had the engine in it kinda tight. It aint goin anywhere.

I also had to pinch the frame to allow clearance for the tank. Then I disassembled the bike and began cutting off brackets that I had not cut off yet.
