Well I finally got some good cases. And since I finally got Plummen watching I figured I would post some pics of the new cases and the new gauge bracket.

Good symmetry on the gauge bracket, nicely done. Did you paint the lower case, or did it come that way?

Thanks porchechev. The cases came black I'm hoping to clean them this weekend and maybe just scuff them up and repaint them. The weird thing about the gauge bracket is that its not symmetrical the mounting bosses are not the same on both sides so the one side is shorter than the other. But its intentional. Looks pretty i like it a lot more than the first one. I will put some holes in it tomorrow and get some paint on it. Thanks for stopping by

Speedholes!! Good work. Are the drive cables for your speedo and tack compatable with the KZ on the other end?

Yes the speedo cable is compatible. The tach is electronic so thats compatible. Just a few speed holes. Its made out of steel and it was heavy so out came the drill. The gauges are the original gpz gauges. I really like the look of them but thought they were going to be too big but then once I started putting the frontend together I found the mini gauge I got was too small.

Sorry I haven't been around a bunch. The bike has been moving slowly. The engine cases i got are for the trubo motor. which meant i had to get some spacers and a new transmission. its coming along though now. just need to redo the clutch cover and get a bolt for the rotor. then double check my cam timing and she'll be ready for the frame. The frame has taken a complete transformation. I had found the bike was too high. So i cut the tabs off for the subframe and bent one out of 1 inch tubing. and started making a seat out of an old tank. the seat is gonna be welded to the subframe and the electronics will mount from underneath.I have repainted the forks and the brake rotors. so all that stuff is ready to go on. just waiting to finish the engine and frame and i can start putting it together. Wire and chain alignment is after that.

Wow TMX, it looks like most of the fabrication is complete, and you're close to assembly? It seems like there has been a noticable shift in the project forum toward bobbers/choppers, away from the hybrids. It's good to see an update from you. How long until you get the rough assembly together?

Well I started work on the metal bumstop. I also found that with the ear tire on the bike that the subframe was too short. heres some pics of the progress.

I like the radiused subframe supports, I don't think I ever noticed them before. You're right, that tail does look a little short. How much longer than stock is the new swingarm?
