Anyone done this before? I am thinking the brake cylinder will be impossible with my stuff to really get in and sand and polish. Was thinking it may not be a good idea but the top tree I think would be nice to do. I might even go with black anodized bars and put the pieces that hold them down nice and polished. I really haven't decided yet but when I am able to finish with the sanding I will mock them up with both chrome and black bars and make a decision which way to go then.

I bought a buffer/polisher from a sears that was going out of business and once I finish polishing the rest of the parts I will post a pic of before and after and hopefully by the end of the month or by July I will have most of it done.
I think it fair to say that I have learned how to polish aluminum finally and once the pieces are back on the bike it will make all the money and hard hours spent sanding and polishing all worthwhile.
By the end of the week next Friday or two weeks I should have many pics up to share with those of you who were interested in the progress of the bike. I have yet to save up for a paint job but soon enough this bike will get her finishings.

Well I know it has been awhile. What with all the things and drama going on I have put off posting stuff up about the progress of the bike. The crank should arrive some time Monday or Tuesday from Falicon once it's in the bike it'll be falic on baby!. Two rods were bent a little bit. The gears are back, with billet parts and street back cut. All that is left to pay for will be the swingarm and custom caliper and rotor for the back.

Thanks man, now that Cassia had to get a stitch in her cervix means no more play time till baby comes and once school gets out the 18th I will spend all of my time around the house. Well the time that I'm not riding of course. I have to finish polishing the forks and clutch and sprocket covers. The can I hit up and now it looks even shinier than it did before and now I am thinking of hitting the brake cylinder even more. When I am not busy polishing my knob that is.
Once I get that done I will take a group shot of the shine.
:woohoo: Ahhhh... I hope that group shot doesn't include the knob you've been polishing as well.... :silly:

Guess I am going to have to finish the aluminum pieces quick! By next week I will have posted pics of the crank gears, cases that I had powdercoated and take a blow by blow reassembly of the engine for those of you who are voyeuristic in nature towards kaws.
