Mi amigo... Don't forget, unless you ordered them with leaner jetting, those Keihins would have been shipped way rich on the slow and Main Jets....

Mine: 1400 elevation, Kerker 1.5" comp baffle and pods....
Head: KZ 1000 sized valves with port & polish by Larry.

Slow & Main Jets: Down 3 sizes (leaner).
Needle: Down 1 size to YY9 (leaner).

AFR is coming out about 14-14.2 @ 4500rpm...
Still a tad on the rich but desired to be for AZ heat in the summer thus engine cooling effect but also for power band vs. emissions... 13.8 would be ideal but I'm cool with where she's at....

Let us know what you end up with in the jetting...;)

Nice carbs you got there... :)

The longer [as I recall 70mm] stacks will put more midrange in it. The shorter stacks will put more top in it.

They're not the best setup on the street though. Your pistons will get eaten up without filtration.

You might be surprised how quickly the piston skirts get destroyed from road grit...;)

Now Larry... be kind and inform him the straight up...

Those Keihin CR Specials are crap, total junk, so he should send them to you or me for that matter , either way he should not use them on his beloved KZ for they just won't work out right and his bike will run like poo-poo....

EDIT: Sax, if you find you need a richer jet for example due to your build, elevation, air density whatever, let me know and I'll send you what you need for I have everything (jet sizes) in between stock and 3 sizes down...

The 29-31mm Keihins should be the same jet sizes but will need to confirm just the same... ;)

sorry Larry, I meant on the intake. The tunnels that allow space between the carbs and engine. Runners?

As good as these pieces are gonna get. Tomorrow they go on the bike! Too much sanding and polishing. Will take more pics as soon as I get my pieces back from the powdercoater.

Well... it's been awhile. A quick update, got my cams back, well actually sent new ones at their cost which was nice. The cases are finished but haven't picked them up yet. The crank? Who knows when that will be finished along with the gears. It may be awhile on the engine as I need to make sure about gainful employment.;) But hopefully all goes well on that end. So the headwork I guess I will save for last and take on the little stuff that takes a lot of time and elbow grease but doesn't cost much.
I have decided to do the grunt work on stripping the calipers and perches along with the triple tree. Going to sand them down and hopefully get them andodized but I see a lot of work and have not an idea on how to polish or sand in those oh hard to get at spaces. I may just give up on the anodizing and have them powdercoated or painted. I will post up some pics of those before and when finished.
This job thing is going to be a tough nut to crack and at this point it could go either way with the budget cuts; maybe not but if so... for the first time in my life I may just have to take unemployment. Cross that bridge when I get there I suppose. Always been hairy working for CPS as they have never been honest and upfront about anything. We find out about things after the news breaks.
Well, until then...

Thanks. I appreciate it. I have faith things will work out. They always do but to prepare yourself for the worse while you hope for the best has been my saving grace. I am about out of this storm almost but not quite.
On another word has anyone ever had their tree and perches anodized before? If so could you share pics of your anodized stuff.

Isn't the bottom part of the tree steel? That can't be anodized, can it? I had mine powder coated and they came out real nice, but I can't remember if it was steel or not. Are you looking into polishing and then clear anodizing or do you have a specific color in mind?
