Going for broke with the bike that I was supposed to have as a daily rider. Man, I tell you. But this time is it. All out.The brake calipers and top tree and handles I will have polished and anodized black. All bolts will be replaced with stainless for the engine mount kit will be stainless as well and every other bolt that I haven't already replaced will be stainless. The rest will be nice machined improvements on the originals. The internals will stay, the JE pistons 1075 10.25/1 and .410 cams, I'm thinking, even though she runs a little hot for my tastes. The crank Falicon will take care of. Going to get the rods knife edged the works. Still thinking about the trans getting back cut and at this point I think I will just because, although I hear that you must shift a little differently than normal. Got the 31 cr specials and jboots. Getting the head ported and polished and gonna have bigger stainless intake valves also the intakes will be opened up to match those boots. Heavy duty cam chain, liska rollers. I'm sure I have left a few things out here and there but that is the gist of it. What do you all say about that setup?
I am kind of debating putting the stock pistons and smaller cams just because she runs hot but in other words I am thinking of just dealing with it and what may be, be.

go man go.....i will be watching this one with interest.....if ya have the cake, go for it....B)

Well, I could have bought a cherry zrx12r for chump change just after I paid for the rebuild last season 38 obo and not a friggin scratch anywhere not even the light scratches that get on a bike from debris. 7k on the clik. Still kickin myself for that one. But this bike is like a vision from above. The voices keep saying build it, build it, spare no expense. So now I'm in it till the last bolt is improved upon.
I could have kept that zx14 and had a new FAST bike that didn't need a thing for what I have in to it right now but hell I have a bug for things that need to be finished and done completely thorough. So, I took it all apart to get it powder coated, about 300, get the wiring harness redone, ???. Stainles bolts, ?? I already have the stainles kickstand spring and bolt (what a trick look when clean), I think the engine kit with the stainless spacer is a few bills, the braided lines with dark gray covers and chrome ends looks like carbon fiber, oh about 70 a line or something like that. The anodizing I have no idea about the cost if anyone knows of a great place to do it and the cost I would love to hear it. The head work I haven't priced out yet but I am sure the faliconized crank will be about 3k and the gears I think is a standard price. What else?? The cases and miscellaneous parts I didn't get a price for of powder coating but what it costs it costs. I am sure I will have over ten grand in to the bike before I am finished with just headwork, crank and parts. I plan on getting a gunfighter and lady saddle. OMR said he loves his and the older one I tried although very hard seemed very comfy on the longer rides so who knows how much it will cost altogether. I really don't want to know or remember. I can't be held accountable for lack of memory or receipts when it comes time to explain...:woohoo: not that I have to explain to anyone. There is a price for everything that most look at and seem to overlook the value of contentment and enjoyment and pleasure. Besides I have to do this before I have child expenses that may very well soon be coming up. hint hint Tri and OMR. See, I knew it! I shoulda worn the glove for all activities.

So Roy, I hope that answers a few questions. I don't think it will be cheap at all but worth it? Heck ya! You can't put a price on personal addictions. I remember back in high school I wanted to build a bicycle. I put it together one piece at a time. Took me two years and spent a good chunk of change on it but when I was finished man what a kickazz bike I had. All the kids in the neighborhood loved it as well. I got down to the last detail and chinzed though. Those spokes and nipples I wanted I thought were way too expensive so I built the rims on some cheapo spokes just because I was Jonsin' so bad I couldn't wait. No substitue for doing things once and right. It took me a long time to build and true those wheels with those cheap spokes. I had to redo them later. Twice the work and the rims I used I had to trash so in the long run would have been better had I waited.

Ahhh. Just like me . It started with bicycles. I had a three speed stringray with a shifter in front of the seat and i could shift it with my knee without missing a stroke.

I bought it from a kid that wiped it out. Me and Western Auto became great friends for a while.

Had a five foot sissy bar so i could pull wheelies with no effort. Made them out of conduit.

I sure would like to see that bike in person when you are finished with it. Roy

Now that is funny because I just commented on your post. I could stop on the way through. I still think a bunch of us should get together and do some long distance riding. I am entertaining the idea of a California trip, for sure will ride around Lake Michigan and definitely am planning on going down to Florida again but riding the whole way this time. My friends bike is sweet as molases. When we ride people almost get in to accidents doing the rubberneck. This bike will be as nice as his or nicer but with a helluva lotta more kick to it.
I posted pics of it up on some of my posts.
