Since the swingarm does not have pieces welded on it to accommodate the chain guard or rear brake line what do you all suggest for mounting.
Also, I wish to strip and repaint the calipers. Powdercoating or sprayed? Maybe even gun kote, alothough I doubt my wife would see eye to eye with me on the use of her oven.

I had the same issue with my swingarm and was able to install some really nice inserts for the chainguard. I'll see if I can dig up some pics and info...it's been a while!

OK, found some pics and looked up the info. The nuts are cheap but the tool was about $30. Still better than welding on my new chrome swing arm. Depending on your specific application, you might need different sizes but this will give you a good start if you decide to go this route:

Nice. So that wouldn't weaken the swingarm. That's good. In my mind I was thinking of Sime kind of clamp or ... that's really helpful.

Don't use the black Gun Kote in an oven you cook food in. it has a small amount of lead in it.

Nice job mounting chain guard. You do a fantastic job on your bikes and the detail you put in is phatt.

First off........I'm not an engineer nor do I play one on T.V.

BUT.......... drilling holes as you have most likely weakened the swing arm greatly.

If you had ran a weld bead around the top outer ring of plug, I would feel better about the insert.

I would watch for any stress cracks coming from holes. Just an observation?
