I wonder if I can remove the reinforcements from the front fender and bend it. I have been looking for a chrome front fender for a 17 inch wheel. I found one for a Ducati gt1000.(NEW MODEL)
. I don't care for the shape or the mounting tabs. This fender is not perfect and may be a candidate for modification.
I have been telling myself for three weeks to buy stem bearings, still don't have them. Time to knock out the old races.
The bottom race have grooves of course. They are roller bearings though.

So now I'm thinking about a chrome front fender. I looked at the one at Klasmos, It's ok I guess. $246 and I'm not in love with it. It does not even cover much, mounting it to the usd forks may look bad in the end. I guess a modified ninja fender could work. B) I want chrome!!!!!B) :side: The zx9 fender looks like a birds beak.

maybe its just me but that looks like ghetto trash to me :S

Yeah, I'm not bagging on the 'work effort'; but gold and chrome on a performance bike...hmmmmm...I've known some pimps that might not go that "bling"-ish. :)

But hey, I gotta say I LOVE those bar-clamps! Are you going to paint/powder-coat the triples black?...that would really set off those clamps.

Cool Stuff...

I think we can compare notes.

I can give you a heads up!! on one problem you are gonna see. Ground clearance, the front forks on the ZX9 are about 29 1/2 inches long if I remember. I had to find forks which were 31 1/2 inches to give me about 5 inches of clearance.

Put the header on, remove the springs from the forks, and look at how close the header comes to the ground when the forks are bottomed.

Steering stop, I don't know how your set up for that but I nearly put a dent in my brand new tank the first time I turned the forks to full stop.

Please check out my intro thread, I have done the zrx swingarm. I am curious as to where you are finding the trick Japanese sources.

"Plumbers strap"??? Hey: you'd know!!! :woohoo: Ha-haaaaa!
But yeah, I caught that er ... 'bracketry'(?)..., too, but I wasn't gonna hang that one out to dry as much as I just can't do chrome on a performance bike, but hey, it ain't my ride and this guy is bustin' his ass pretty hard, so, I'm a fan. You think they made that bracket in East Topeka??? :woohoo:

OH, on the ZX9R forks, yeah, he's got the measurements right, but don't worry, the 9R forks are long enough for the street. Be cautious though b/c you will have less ground clearence than before, but it will also VASTLY improve the handling (steeper rake, 17"s are quicker and offer superior rubber, and the forks are stiffer, stronger, and feed-back much better). You'll like it ... a lot.

Yeah that fender picture sucks donkey ass.(Klasmos) Orangish gold calipers and green wheels go along way. Those mounts are nasty especially on upside down forks!:side:
The bar mounts are anodized mxbonz.com/brakepedalsnare.htm MX Bonz.
I will loose some ground clearance with a 17" front wheel but I am using the longest forks I could find. I can't wait to ride it again!!

Swing arm.... I have a zrx1100 5 inch rear wheel and a zrx1200 swing arm.
So the 1200 arm is wider and I will probably have to buy the axle and come up with spacers and stuff.
I have a 170 tire mounted so that I don't want to jump out of my ass to get chain/frame/tire clearance. On the other hand, I can go up in tire or wheel size later on and have plenty room.

I am really enjoying everyones bikes! Wow.!
