you may have already checked, but that is something to make sure you can clear.unexpeted front brake usually ends up with a face plant.

just sayin' :pinch: .

it looks kicka$$.
i have a 900 i want to do basically the same thing to.

I was worried about that too. We pulled it way down with the straps and tried the wheel in all directions.

It clears with no problems.

It actually has plenty of room when it's straight do to the design of the header.

The wheel is the closest when it is turned left. If I have it turned that far and slam the brakes that hard, I'm going over anyway.

Once it's on the ground I'll really bounce it around and see what happens.

cool man,i figured you had.

but if you had dropped it on the ground, and rode down the road and grabbed some front brakes and got slammed i would have felt like a douche for not saying nothing.

Be very careful until you know for sure. The bike I have USD forks on looked like it had plenty of clearance also. Even jumped on the front end to compress them to see the clearance I had. All looked good. Then I was moving slowly and hit the brakes hard while the front wheel was turned a little. The front end dived like it was supposed too and I lost the clearance I thought I had. The center two header tubes ended up on either side of the tire and suddenly straightened out the front wheel to the point I couldn't turn it at all. Once the front end bounced back, all was good again. Got my attention very quickly, so test it first before riding just to be sure.

tachrev wrote: Thanks! I don't think we can get it much lower without going to a hard tail.

I have a slimmer tailight coming though, to we'll see.

Here's some slightly better cellphone pics.

Naked

Mock up

even if it is a hardtail still cant get much lower and turning right is not fun at all while the header is scaping and tryin to throw the bike back strait (up and down).

Thanks for the heads up everyone!

I'm sure there will be lots of kinks to work out once it's back on the floor.

Kawman, you bike looks REAL low!

I think I have about 6 inches between the frame and the ground...the angle of the photo makes it look lower than it is.

Soon, I hope.

I started on the headlight brackets, and got my new tail light yesterday too.

I need to get a different battery still, the battery box fits in the stock location, but the battery doesn't fit in it anymore! oops.

nice work!
Can you tell me the free length of that fz6r shock you've used.
Can't find any this side of the Pacific. Might have to measure a few at the wreckers...I was thinking of a cantilever set up like an early TZ yam' with top mount above 'aircleaner' But your solution is vastly easier/more elegant. Bravo.
