Mark, i just looked through the Chaparral mag and couldnt find the brackets. if you go online to there web site you will find them. they come in two sizes.
Im not up to snuff about the rake. do you measure from the bottom of the sterring head to the fork to get the angle?
Im liking the handling, seems to be much quicker, its a tottaly differant bike. Front stopping power is amazing with the 636 brakes.
Whats your thoughts on frame bracing at the sterring head, do you think its a good idea to do. could that be an area that might have stress cracks do to stronger front end?

Bracing is a very good idea if you like to corner, or transition quickly, or brake very hard. Unless it's been in a collission I doubt that it has any stress cracks b/c the stock suspension package didn't have the braking ability or the traction capacity to stress the frame. Bracing at the steering head is a good thing, so is bracing across the rear of the frame.

BTW: nice bike...my kind of mods. B)

bah! badkaw is just that... bad, and a kaw. 8^P

never mind him... lots of projects, but nothing that runs.

D'OH!

yes, soon. very soon. see my email from earlier today too...

KZG1, sweet. shoot me a closeup of what you removed from it, as i was thinking of doing the same. i want to stash the key/ign switch somewhere outta sight. just to clean things up. i'm gonna run an acewell digital setup, and probably sink it into the back of the light shell.

google rake and trail calculator. there are a couple good ones out there that will do a much better job at explaining it than i can.

Nice job, what is the dia. of the fork tubes? I have 43mm tubes on my KZ and the headlight bracket you used come in 27-41mm and 50-52mm I'm thinking to go with the larger and put a rubber strip under them , but wanted to know how they clamped on, could you post some close up pics of them?

Thanks!
