I can understand your reluctance to tear your bike apart again, I know I was reluctant to do anything to mine until I was forced to, and it all clapped out. Not a nice, finished machine like yours. I'm looking forward to a fine, smooth machine when I'm finished.
Make sure you only put amsoil dot 6 double distilled blinker fluid in there......you'll thank me later ;)

Motivate of course. You guys have a short summer, and you need to take advantage of it. That swinger looks killer painted red. I wish that my garage was that clean.

I also lengthened my front fender a few inches by adding to the bottom, and modified the side shape a bit, over the winter.
I didnt have time to repaint the bike so i just resprayed the red Duplicolor and then covered it with a 2 part clear coat. i haven't done the tank or side covers yet. they are pretty bad and will require a lot of time that i just dont have right now.its time to ride.

Is there anything else you need to change or mod Mark? Or is just a matter of putting it back together?

I just need to put it together and run it through the paces. then we'll see how she handles and go from there.
I have the new HID light from Otto, to install and try out still. The shocks are at a new angle, front end is higher, and new braces added. Then there is the swing arm angle(chain issue).i have Ben's support plate to install. but i may not get to that. when i do i will install the hydro clutch as well.i tried to sand and strip a side cover. its a major mess right now, and the tanks paint is all messed up. there was a compatibility issue with the base coat and top coat, so i will need to strip it. that may have to wait till winter now. i want to mod the seat over the winter as well. Acewell, sometime? lots of ideas, no money.
I will test it at the track this year.:woohoo:

i went to the local track last night. i almost dropped the kz. i leaned her over too far, and hard. The crash bar hit hard and i lost traction, when the wheels replanted, she did a series of big wobbles, before i could rein her in. My heart was pounding hard after that. Wow, what a rush. but i need to take it back a notch. i sure wouldn’t want to crash the old girl. My buddy did crashed our cbr6 last night though. He broke the fairing in half and broke off the brake side peg.
in the pic u can see where i scraped the header, and the crash bar. i hit the bar several times. sure glad i put them on. i was thinking of cutting them back a bit for more clearance, but now i see that the header is the low spot. That really sucks, because i would love to lean her over and spank her some more .lol
I just put on new Dunlop Road Smart sport touring tires. They worked very well. i got right over the edge on the rear and close to the tires edge on the front. There was no sign of slippage whatsoever. so these tires should prove to be a good choice. they will out last my Michelin, Pilot sports, and give more than enough grip.
I also added some more gussets this winter. i beefed up the neck and added some plate at the rails in front of the seat. I also raised the bike about an inch , with the top tree mod and cantering the shocks forward. It seems to be pretty good. Not like the cbr6 of course, but not bad for an old Z. she has a little wiggle in the middle when u push her hard. the front forks and brakes are awesome now. If I had more clearance, I could rider a lot harder. As it is, my legs are killing me from leaning over the bike so much. I’m not used to doing deep knee bends around the track like that. On the cbr u can stay on the seat and scrape the pegs.
PS. no that is NOT oil under my bike, just water.(coolant leak  )
