That's pretty much what I'm doing. If that's what you'd like to do go for it. I'm passing my good take off parts to those that are restoring their GPz's rather than hoarding them.

I can't wait to see your build thread. BTW ZR7s use a ton of parts that are compatible with the KZ750 and in many ways they are improved. If you are interested the 6 speed KZ550 transmission fits in the 750 crank case.

I'll clean her up and ride her for the time being, I have a friend in the UK that races one, he's given me a pile of tips, he also has a Zephyr swingarm and some A1/A2 cams for me, he's using the arm until October, so I'll probably get it and the cams then. I'll grab a stage 3 dynojet kit and am toying with the idea of buying a Weisco 810 kit for it. I have a couple of different front ends spare, I'll probably use a 1989 GSXR1100K 43mm RSU cartridge front because I have tube extensions made up for it, that should give me an acceptable length to work with, these old Kawasaki's have long forks. I've also got 2 sets of Z1000p 2.5x18 rear wheels and 2 2.15 x 18 Z1300 front wheels with 300mm discs, I got the 2 sets because I wanted to get one set widened to 4,5 rear and 2.75 front for another project, but I didn't end up using them, I know they are heavy but I can't afford the beautiful but expensive Japanese or marvic Morris copies. Anyway, I'll leave all that for a build thread at some stage, I really have to get rid of 2 750/4 Honda's first, I seem to collect more parts than I actually use, its a sickness....

Welcome mate, nice tidy GPz you scored there. I saw your offer of a set of carbs to Ken, cost shouldn't be too bad from across the Tasman. Most of our stuff comes across the Pacific. The bike looks good from that one photo, exhaust on, mud guard in the bin - job done!

Other bikes that have the same or compatible parts that you can mix and match with little effort: KZ750E, KZ750L, KZ750P (GT750), KZ700A (US only model but many have found their way to Europe, probably some made it down under too.).

Many of the KZ650 engine parts are the same. Some of the similar models in the 550, 1000 and 1100 class have easy to swap parts as well.

Not in my widest dreams mate.... :ohmy: I am a big fan of the early 1980's/1970's superbikes, I ain't no hipster and I hate Cafe's {coffee or wheeled versions}... Its all about retaining the integrity of the old bike whilst bringing the brakes and suspension up too scratch. What are your thoughts on this...? Do it right or don't do it at all.......
