Hello. Tune here, I am a cycleaholic

I recently purchased a 1982 GPZ 750 R1 ELR... I have a few others as well  Some are in build stage, some done and some moved on to new homes and some may never ever get done B)

Back to the 82 GPZ... this was an eBay steal turned into a big ? I will be making a decision to either restore, resto mod (Tuneuhfy) or part out. The part out option IS what brings me here, but I am glad to say, I look forward to starting a thread for my KZ1R copy and will hopefully be able to get some much needed measurements and templates for frame tabs and other needed things to add the Z1R parts to a KZA frame.

Thanks in advance for any input,
Tune.

A 1982 GPZ750-R1 ELR "Eddie Lawson Replica"? I know Kawasaki made a 1982 KZ1000-R1 ELR and 1983 KZ1000 ELR, but I have never heard of any 750cc ELR. Please elaborate. Ed

It's a KZDR1 or GPZ 750 R1 born as a red model and converted to an ELR (green painted) model. If my memory serves me right Kawasaki Heavy sent only red to the US but also had a gold version... I have only had 6 or so first being the 550 I'm not very well versed.

Keep in mind that true ELR models had some bits, such as the front forks, seat, etc. that were unique. They were not simply standard or GPZ models painted green. So if you ever sell the 750 you may want to be careful about calling it an ELR since Kawasaki didn't make a 750 ELR. Ed

Yeah I know, but thanks for the tip, but pretty sure anyone buying a 750 ELR rep would know. I do have the ELR ("!replica"!) seat stickers and some other fancy bits as well.

See something you need? Just ask if it's for sale, the shocks, green stuff and seats are not for sale.

Welcome,

Do you have a spare LH red side panel?

BTW you highjacked someone else's thread. The title might have confused you.

I'm sure a Mod or Admin can split it off for you.
