New KZ Owner - Texas
06 Apr 2016 17:47
Hello everyone. My name is Pat McKinney and I became the new owner of a 1993 KZ1000P. I've gone through several motorcycles including a Vulcan 750, Vulcan Mean Streak (Darksided), two Concours 1000's, and my current bike is a Concours 1400.
A friend of mine owns a motorcycle shop and had it stored in a shipping container with a bunch of other parts bikes, including a kz550 next to it. He forgot he had it till I made mention of looking at another kz1000 at the "giddy-up" chopper show in New Braunfels. He bought it from a tow yard for next to nothing and is offered for me to buy it for $300. Solid project and everything is there, minus the keys. We hooked up a new ignition cylinder and power, she turns over so the motor isn't locked up. I'm very excited to start this new project.

I'm in San Marcos between Austin and San Antonio. I really want to keep the bike as a touring setup but may change my mind lol.
Hand built show?

zukdave,
When are you going? I'm going to be Austin on Sunday to go to the show with my son. Wanted to go tonight but the timing for an evening event wasn't working out. Really wanted to watch some of the racing tonight. Sigh.
