Sort of newbie From Lincolnshire, UK!
25 Mar 2016 13:28
Hi all! I was on here quite a few years ago, have a 550ltd chop, which is in bits atm, 2 gpz500s' ( plan is rebuild the gen 1 with the engine, bits of the loom and rear suspension and wheel off the gen2) and I acquired a z1000e last summer but I'll pop the story there in projects!
I run a workshop in east Kirkby lincs so I work on everything, including building trikes but I always come back to Kawasaki...
Can't imagine why?
So hello and I'll see you on the boards!
Jon.

Here's the St, passed the MOT inspection with a totally clean bill of health on Tuesday after 15 years off the rd behind a shed. Minimal work done to get her ready either really. Haven't even had to put new fork seals in... The Alfa pipe is in fantastic condition too. Baffle needs packing and a spot of paint on the end plate but that's it.

25 Mar 2016 15:41Sweet! Much better shape than mine. I'm going to have to replace my head and cylinders due to busted fins. The compression is shit anyway.Crowsonpunk wrote: Here's the St, passed the MOT inspection with a totally clean bill of health on Tuesday after 15 years off the rd behind a shed. It is in really good shape tbh. All I had to do to get it running was blow the carbs through, flush the tank and out fuel in it! It did go with one hell of a pop and bang and showered my fiancé with soot and crust from the pipe. She wasn't best impressed at the time!
It's even on the original caliper and rear master cylinder seals. All I had to do was ultrasonically clean them, scrape the crud from behind the seals and pop them back in.
Quite a result really! It effectively has cost me £300 including the bike. Which is pretty epic tbh.
Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll start the project post tomorrow!
