Love that style and colour. Have patience with the carb. You'll get there eventually. Guitar string or nylon bristle + compressed air might help.

There is a leak catcher funnel cup around the sending unit. It's there in case the sending unit seal fails so the fuel doesn't dump on top of the hot engine. You should get a long piece of hose and route it down by the rear wheel, to the side so if it were to dump it wouldn't soak your rear tire.
