So I don't own a Kawasaki currently. But I have a Yamaha. It'd my baby but I want to build a bike or get an older Kawasaki 750 maybe a z2 and make it a cafe racer. Why this bike? Well I'm a nerd and I watched anime growing up and my favorite anime the main character has a Kawasaki 750 road star z2. So I've always wanted a bike like his. But more modern and stylized. Or better put a cafe racer with more mechanical then electrical. Might even been a dooms day bike lol. Any who I'm Chris 25 Marine vet currently a security guard and college student. If any of you know someone selling a kawi 750 in Texas let me know.

Welcome. Are you talking about a KZ 750 or a Z2? The Z2's are very rare and collectible. It would be a shame to hack it up.

What Swest said...the Z2's are difficult to source...particularly in the US...best estimates are that there are no more than 2-3 dozen in North America (as they were never officially imported to North America). In Japan, they sell for between $15,000-$25,000, restored. I'm one of the lucky folks and found mine as a barn bike in north Texas...if you want to cafe a bike, find a later model KZ750(4) as they are more common.,,,and welcome to KZR :)

You want to cut up a Z2 to make a "cafe racer"?

May I suggest a better idea? Why not just buy the car pictured below and cut it up to make a dune buggy? You may want to stick with your Yamahaha where you can do no harm. Ed

Welcome Chris.

The KZ750 twins do make a nice Café styled bike, with spoke wheels.
Have a look at them too.

Might do some research and looking into that. Newer bike. Not as popular. Found one for $200 so not bad try to haggle him down and see what's what. Correction the bike he has is a 07 or 09 K750S.

This will give you an idea of what is out there and what they go for. There have been tons of cafe projects built out of LTDs and "standards" that are just awesome. Check out the PROJECTS forum for tons of excellent builds of all extremes.
