Welcome MiKaw! I'm originally from Taylor myself. Sold my 74' Z1 900 (the one in my Avatar) in the mid 80's to a guy off of Wick Rd in Romulus. Would have been awesome if it had been you. If you see a Z1 with a Corbin step up seat roaming the area, then that would be it. I hate the idea that it may have ended up at scrap yard. Good luck on your build.

Hi Joe,
Mid 80's was my prime buying area, I'm sure if I would have know about yours i would have bought it. I too grew up in Taylor. Right off Ecorse by the old taco bell. Went to Kennedy HS. Sorry to say I don't see any old school road bike cruising the area. Im sure once I fire up the Kaw with the Kerker and hit 11K on the tack it will draw attention. cant wait to take back my streets.

With a buddy and his slightly tweaked H1 500cc 2 stroke... and my hot rodded 71' 780cc Triumph Trident triple, we used to cruise up and down Telegraph from 8 mile all the way past I-94.
The same up and down search and destroy mission on Southfield Freeway from Five and Six Mile to the opposite end... looking for sorry sacks driving their hot dog Harleys, Honda 750s or their daddy's Cobra Jet 428 Mustangs.... humiliated all of them in front of their Bloomfield Hills girl friends.
Then that same buddy bought a 74' Z1... crap.

It's kinda lonley tho, no one wants to ride along side a Z1. They ether drop back or speed away.

Yeah, lots of great memories growing up in Taylor. We lived off Goddard and Beechdaly. Use to love taking the Z around the Airport circuit. Watching the planes land. I loved that Taylor still had lots of country roads left when I lived there. Lots of room to open up the Z's power whenever I got the urge. And as kids, we used to ride the trails in that huge parcel of land where Beaumont Hospital now resides. Rode many times out to Irish Hills, Manchester, Hillsdale, Ann Arbor, etc. Lots of cool little towns on the way. Surprised you went to Kennedy instead of TC. I'm from the TC class of '78, let Taylor for good in '93. Nice to hear from a fellow Taylortuken.
