Hello KZ riders.

I am coming back to the KZ world. My first bike was a 1981 KZ440. I brought it back to life, rode it for six months, and gave it away when I bought my 1984 CB700S. I rode that for four years, traded it in, and bought a 2002 DL1000. I love the Strom, but I found myself missing the KZ440. I missed how light and zippy it was, and I definitely missed how easy it was to work on. So I went looking on Ebay and found myself a 1979 KZ400. I'll be picking it up in the next few days, and probably spending the next few months working on it and reconnecting with the vintage KZ experience.

Welcome,

I'm a born again rider/KZ convert. Got a '82 GPz750 a month ago and I'm getting it back to running shape, I'm very excited to get it functioning. It's been nearly 2 decades since I sold my Beamer boxers and the GPz feels just like them if not better.

These guys have been an invaluable help over the past weeks. I hope you find them just as useful.

I picked up the new old KZ400 tonight. It was a thirty-five mile ride and I think I found at least one thing wrong for every mile. But it's in the garage now, it's more or less rideable, and in a few months I'll have a nice project to keep me busy over the winter. All it really needs is a good cleaning, and the carbs synced, and the chain adjusted, and new handlebars and grips, and the taillight fixed, and a turn signal fixed, and a gas tank bolt, and some rewiring, and some paint, and it won't look a day over thirty.
