wutuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!!
19 Nov 2014 08:04 - 19 Nov 2014 08:21
Sup boyz! long time kz lover here in the hills of Tn. Owned a few KZs thru the years since high school. Always wanted another as we all do! In 2009 I found a 77 kz1000 b1 basket case for $400 and snagged it up! Tore it down completely and then it got put on the back burner for a divorce/triple bypass/early retirement all in about a 2 year period. Took me awhile to get back up after the "life kick in the nuts" but even go thru all that I never let that KZ go determined to turn her into my brain child. She sat in pieces in boxes and crates until this past summer where i finally said its time! After 5 years I thru her back together for a mock up just to see where it stood. So far ive found 2 missing floats in the carb (diagnosed that overflow problem...lol)...A tube fused used for a needle under a 3rd float (yes a tube fuse!). And a gpz1100 4-2 exhaust so she sure is living up to her basket case name!! Im going for a 6" stretch bagger style. Cause im not a stock kinda guy or do i wanna drag it...just always loved the look of the drag bike...and once I went full fairing on my vulcan classic and never looked back. PLUS Ive never seen a stretched and dressed KZ. I want her to be a one of....and she shall!!! Well heres my wutup im here! Im sure ill be picking yalls brain for some crazy shit here real soon. Sry bout the long/bs intro...but it is it what is....i am who i am...like it or leave it!

Welcome to KZR...if you decide you might not want that GPz exhaust, post a photo or two and I might be interested.

z1enterprizes, z1parts inc are good places for new parts. Ebay for used and jetsrus for carb and small parts. Shop around and you can save a lot of $ that way. I'm with you. I tried the saddle bag bit but went back to my hard bags. I had a Wind Jammer fairing years ago but it loaded my front end down too much. This time I have a wind shield and a dash for my tunes. It was for a CB but now there's a combo unit I can use instead. Just have to put my pennies together for it. Here's some pic's.

Be careful of eBay. It's starting to be infested with Craig flakes and sharks.
