I have been in the software business for most of my career, and right now I do technical support for a large CTI (computer telephony integration) company.

If any of you enjoy calling (insert name of financial institution here) and and talking to their automated system ("Please say your sixteen digit account number..."), you are sampling my handywork ;-)

Engineer/Project Manager for Fort Collins' water treatment and water reclamation plants. We treat it before you drink it and then after you flush it :P .

I've just been in this job for a little over a year after 12 years as a stormwater project manager. Before that was an engineer in Virginia Beach, VA after a stint in the Navy.

One of the great things about working at the plants is all the toys we have.... sandblast booths, machine washing stations, mills, lathes and some of the best mechanics around to use them. I'm sure they'll come in handy for someone someday  .

This is a great thread.

I'm a refuge manager for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. 23 years in. Great job. But, as I move up the pay scale I spend way more time inside driving a computer than outside driving my pickup. Best days are out on the refuge. Worst days are, well, almost everything else.

I'm the production manager for a small Laser cutting company in Birmingham, England. I write NC programs, draw in 2D CAD, operate the machines and keep the staff in check. Pretty much run the place on my own. Been there just over a year.

My machine. ByStronic BySpeed 3015. 4.4kW. Can cut upto 25mm thick mild steel, 15mm Stainless Steel and around 10mm - 13mm Aluminium.

If you want anything cutting for your bike (radiator cover for example) then drop me a line with details and i'll do an estimated costing. B)
