Has anyone tried and\or had any success trying to mount any style of rear tailpiece or cowl to an 1982 LTD? I really like the look of my old Z1 900 and the older KZs with the duckbill style cowl but the "J" style is ok too.

Thanks. I remember the mounting bracket similar to that on my old Z1. I was just wondering if anyone had done it. I'm going to give it a shot and if successful, I'll make a video on it to share.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI did this on my CSR project, Using one of these;

It was way too narrow to fit over the frame rails but being fibreglass, I was able to cut it up and remodel it. I built it into a complete one piece tail unit/seat pan, did away with all the original hinges and lugs on the frame.No welding involved (Though I did shorten the subframe as I was going for a mono seat anyway)
I did a step by step in my build thread,though Ive no idea where. Somewhere in the first half, Id reckon.

Post some measurements and I'll do the same to see if a off the shelf one will work.

My suggestion

A HONDA RC37/SC57 rear light fits near perfect into the rear tail piece

On my project bike, the smoky rear light
