Dynatex DS 2-2 Installation issue was created by ShaneDude
On the Dynatek website, when I put my bike in, a 1977 KZ750 Twin with ONE coil, This comes up:

Problem is, my bike only has ONE coil. Its a 2 cylinder not 4. In the wiring instructions that came with the unit, is shows1 wire from the unit goes to Coil # 1, and another wire goes to coil #2. But I only have ONE coil!!! How can this work? Im ready to send it back.

Yeah, don't think that correct. Would assume the ignition plate would only have one pick up on it.
Wonder if you could just remove one of the pick ups
Give Dyna a call they have good telephone snag solving.

That DS2-2 system is for the four cylinder 650-750's.

I don't know why Dyna lists the 750 twin.  I think that's a mistake.  But it looks like it's possible to use the pieces from the DS2-2 to make it fit on the twin.

I spoke with a tech and they suggested cutting splicing and removing one of the pickups. for $173 i decided not to do that. Why would i pay $173 for a device that Im only using half of?

Im getting a refund. I will stick with the original points.

Another post I found suggested adding the Dyna ignition booster between the points and the coil.  That would make the points last nearly forever, as it takes the load off the points.  They won't pit.

Dyna still sells the booster module, but the old Dyna III kits used the same part.  There are several on eBay.

This one is $15.
