Mukoni 28mm carb overflow tubes was created by bobnelson06@hotmail.com
Gidday all Z 1 fans, two of the overflow pipe nipples on the float bowls of my Z1B are broken off, has any one ever removed/replaced these, understand that these are a pressed sweat fit, am thinking of drilling these out and machining up new tubes, would then warm the float bowls and drop the tubes in dry ice prior to fitting, alternatively tap and thread with the use of locktite, any one done similar, appreciate any feedback
thanks
Bob

I replaced the overflow tubes in some Keihin CV34's before. Used brass tubing from a hobby store but had to flare it out a little on one end using the blunt end of a drill bit because I couldn't find the proper OD tubing. With the tube flared a little it was a simple matter of pressing the tube into the bowl for a leakproof seal.

Thanks all for the quick response, I have a small metal lathe so should be no issue to machine up what I need
beats having to find replacement bowls, project is in early days but will publish photos once progressed
cheers

I replaced the overflow tube in a TK-22 float bowl tonight. Didn't have to flare the tube, just roll over the end, cut to length, and then press it in place. A fun project.
