Looks good.

What kind of paint are you using?  Do I see Duplicolor in the pic?

Thanks

So today I finally pulled the gauges and the carbs.
The plastic as well as the outside of the gauges were faded so I gave them a quick coat of black, and clear gloss. I actually don't mind the faded gauge faces so.

Took the carbs apart. The PO used some silicon to try and seal the fuel bowls. It definitely needs new o-rings. Both diaphragms are soft, but one has a small tear in it so I'm going to replace both.
For now they are soaking in pinesol.

If anyone knows a good source for parts for these carbs let me know! Also I really don't want to reuse the airbox, so I may try some silicone radiator hose and pod filters in a sort of "H-pipe" configuration.

I ordered carb kits from Dime City.

The jets were not OEM but I have seen recommendations for the brand on this site before, Keyster?.  The gasket was a pain to keep in place but a few dabs of Vaseline held them in place. Next time I will use super glue as recommended on this site as well.

The kit does not have the pilot jet plugs but they do sell a Honda plug that supposedly fits.

Unfortunately being in canada makes those sites a hit or miss. Shipping is just way too expensive.
I did find a local source for some stuff:  www.partsnmore.com/parts/kawasaki/kz440d/?filters

It turns out both of my diaphragms have small tears in them. JBM industries wants $30us just for shipping, so I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative.

So for the time being I have the diaphragms patched with RTV and a coat of plastidip. I can't be bothered to drop $100cad on new ones right now lol.
My new handlebar, signals, and grips have arrived. I'm currently deciding if I want to paint the fenders green, or black. I'm also sort of trying to figure out if there's some sort of dirt style fender I can use.

before painting the front fender, if you're going for the scrambler look, shorten it! Looks more scrambler'ish :)
you can remove piece of the front and of the rear of the fender, i've done it with my 440 scrambler.

Little update. The tiny storage unit doesn't make for the best photo angles haha.
Bars and switches are on. Front tire is back on.
I'll be replacing the clutch lever and brake MC with KLX250 ones.

Whats left:
Carb rebuild(waiting on parts)
Custom seat
Levers
Chain conversion
Paint

Quick question.

I just realized last night the tires have tubes. I have been reading a lot of back and forth about going tubeless. What are you going to do?  I ordered tubes this morning so I have them.

Also, did you use the same paint on the forks?  You are looking a lot further along than me.

Thanks.

Tubeless mags didn't happen for a while... sorry I don't remember the year. But it's best to tube your tires, don't need a slow leak to sideline you during a ride.
