This looks ridiculously cool as it sits!

Wookie, your attention to detail is inspirational.

Is this thing working? Is this thing on?

Thanks guys, this bike has been in my head for a long time but until we moved house 3 years ago I didn't have anywhere to park a bike let alone build one. So with that being the case I am trying to ensure the only compromises are budget driven rather that "that will do", it's taking longer than expected but it is evolving as I go along. Still I am nearly up to the head stock now with the fabrication

Your doing some great work on this one, that speed sensor mount looks like it took a bit to get done.

Should look cool when its done.
Thanks Injected, with regards the speed sensor the biggest challenge for a "non-engineer" like myself was working out the "how" the actual "doing" wasn't too bad. I wanted to keep the OEM sensor set up that was designed to work with the instruments.

So I've been busy on the front end since my last post, cut off the old steering lock plate and the steering stops and fitted new to suit the trees I'm using. It was originally my plan to use the ZX6R trees in earlier pics of the build as with the exception of a bit of trimming on the stem for the bottom bearing they were pretty much a "bolt in" fit. However as time has passed and my knowledge of motorcycle geometry has improved I realised that the "off set" on the 600 trees would extend the trail to an excessive level (we don't have many straight roads in the UK ) I had a set of ZX9R trees which I got with the forks which have more "off set" but the stem is shorter and would require too much material removing for the bearings to fit (the 900 stem has a bigger counterbore through the centre) A custom stem would have been the easy answer but I'm too cheap for such extravagance so I had to find an alternative. Fortunately the 600 stem will fit in the 900 bottom tree which just left the top to sort, a simple sleeve got the top tree fitting the thinner 600 stem but the 900 uses a recessed nut on the top of the stem which wouldn't fit the 600 stem. As luck would have it the 600 top nut will fit into the recess in the top tree so I have made a cover that will bolt on to tidy things up (bolts into an insert pressed into the top of the stem) I am just waiting for a m22x1.0 die to turn up so I can extend the tread for the top nut then trim the excess off the top of the stem. Have also knocked up some more aesthetically pleasing spacers for the front wheel

Staying at the front I wanted to fit a steering damper (with the amount of mods there is always the possibility of stability issues) as at my age I don't need the excitement of a "slapper" (tank that is as opposed to a loose moraled lady) I didn't want the "sticky out" type which is the norm on older bikes but I also didn't want the type above the top tree used on sports bikes, so what about if you could have the sporty type but discreetly mounted "under the trees"   Well after much thinking and many cardboard templates that is what I have managed to do, I really pleased with how this has turned out

Ooph, awesome work as always. I wish you had questions and I was able to help you half as much as you've helped me. Keep it up, looking forward to more.
