Its a shame you aren't closer, I'm in Australia, I have a pile of good parts for the  82 GPZ750.

And had my first casualty. While trying to remove the rear brake lever from the peg base...she broke...ugh. I tried everything from penetrate oil to heat and then in the press she went...snap.

I bought a set of those footpeg brackets for my 750 but never used them.  If you want, I'll go dig through the spares to see if I still have them.

I had the same thing happen to me.  I ended up getting another used one off of FleaBay.  The rear brake pivot tends to rust solid on these bikes.

Day 3...some cleaning and removal. I figured Id clean up the exhaust and so I dropped it to start the clean up. At a certain moment as my brain was thinking of a Kerker would be great, I realized...I have to much shit, I had bought off another forum , a Kerker pipe and stashed it away for this project...duhhhhhhhh. Way to many projects! So I took it out of storage and test fit to make sure all was good. Man those stock exhaust way a ton!

Went and had the tires removed so I can repaint the rims. I elected to not powder coat them if in case I wanted to return them to stock with the machined lip. Also cleaned up the discs that fell within spec.

pulling more parts off to clean or recoat, either powder or cerakote! Since my parts came in, I decided to rebuild the forks with progressive springs. Couldnt leave them back shocks alone. Definitely get yourself a spring compressor for motorcycles...dont monkey around with other stupid ways. The shocks seems to be in good shape after I took the springs off...good dampening. Man those were a bitch to disassemble!!!

as for the seat, well, ive always liked the cutdown look, so I removed the old upholstery and wacked the foam. Once that was done I took it to the upholstery shop and gave them a pic of the ELR seat and asked if they could duplicate it. For $150 I think they did pretty dang good! I might need to tighten it up later but for now...shes good!

So as pieces are getting together, I was still struggling with just cleaning the paint and leave it kinda patina looking, but then my OCD kicked in and said...umm hello, thats not happening! But I did clean things up and pushed it outside just to see...hmmmmm....
