I'll bet those fenders were pretty pricey!

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Yes, they aren't here yet, I'm anxious to see them. This Z1 is a pretty low number bike built October of 72, I feel I should do the best I can to make it pretty stock or NOS. I'm not sure if I'll sell it when it's straightened out but either way I want it to be a good example of an early Z1 in case I decide to sell. These bikes have gotten somewhat rare, they are worth saving as close to original form as practical. The Z1 and the CB 750 pretty much set the standard for others to follow. The Z1 was a real beast but the CB 750 was first. When I'm done I'll have an example of both, pretty cool.
I'm going to look for NOS handle bars and some other stuff to see if I can find them.

Bars are not easy to find and always suspect of their origin.  No date code that I'm aware of.  One of my Z1B's has re-chromed bars off a Jan/73 Z1.  Also one signal light and the front fender.

I have a friend here in BC who restored 1006 and is currently working on one in the low 4000's.

The carbs will come off again after I run it and then take it apart. Right now I am bench synchronizing them and my shop manual is not like my carbs. The initial setting of the slides requires a .6 to .7 mm space between the notch in the bottom of the slide and the throat. It implies I can adjust all 4 carbs this way. I seem to have a set where the number 4 carb is a fixed setting and the others are adjusted (initially) to match. I included a photo or two. You can see that number 4 has no adjustment screw. The gap under the slide is fixed and is about .5mm. I do not have a drill bit that small but I do have my wife’s silver and gold filled wire. I got a piece and carefully flattened it to make a go gauge. All 4 set now, next step is clear tube check for which I made a little stand.

I fixed your pictures . PLEASE   click the insert all tab to finish picture  installation

Got some stuff!! The front fender looks very nice, as far as I can see the only thing that identifies it as NOS is how nice it looks and the label that was on the plastic bag that was around it, I'm saving the label. There are no build date stamps on it that I can see. My clear tube tool came too so I'll get after the carbs.
I pressed the insert button, was not aware of it, new to how this forum works, thank you Dave

The tool kit is “mostly” Kawasaki. There are a few similar replica tools, it was the only place I found something even close.

I got it to get as close to stock as I can. I think I found a NOS handlebar, checking on that now.

Here’s a story
Before I bought this Z1 I was looking at a 74 package here with 2 engines, non runner. It was very rough, the sticker on the neck was gone, lots of other issues including years of lapsed registration which can get costly here. I thought about it but then I found the 73 (72 build) which cost more but has a lot fewer expensive problems. Another forum member at the SOHC forum and I discussed shipping the 74 package to Oz but it’s pretty tough to do and very expensive. Turns out a guy in Indiana bought it and had it shipped there. The owner here said the buyer is buying all he can get his hands on, selling some and keeping others.
What a market.
I’m just glad I found this one!

Z-power is a great source. Just be aware if ordering bolts. Even thought you may find the same part number lots have been superseded to a newer bolt. They will be the right size, pitch but the head design will be different. A quick clue is if it says bolt-upset in the description.

I'm surprised at the tools.  I haven't seen any new ones for years.   Chrome back in the day wasn't flawless.  If you look at your rims you will see striations running parallel to the rim diameter.  It's hard to get that look when rechroming.

Hope you're aware the Japanese bikes require JIS screwdrivers, not Phillips.

Yes, I’ve got the JIS screwdriver set.
I did the clear tube check on floats today, #1 was a little low, took one try to fix it. It was easier than I expected. Maybe it runs tomorrow.
the meniscus in the tube is pretty big, have to look at the bottom of the curve.

I like your carb test setup.  Can you show a photo of how they hang off the back wood piece please?
