I'd like to find a tired KZP to do it with. Almost had one. I'd never do it to a nice survivor.

My other bikes. I'm selling the ducati , just built the Indian replica and I'm thinking of robbing my supermoto of its expensive rims for the kz.
I have been looking for the right kz1000 for over 20 years , now I can turn it into what I dreamed of.

A Ltd kz1000 isnt worth much, it’s not like it’s a museum piece or anything . You clearly got the skills. Eventually we will all be dead and no one will remember or care if you chopped up a stock LTD. have fun with it.

I would say, if >I< were used to riding a bike with 160-180 HP, my 39 year old ~100 hp kaw would feel slow. The HP some of the newer bikes produce is insane with improvements like EFI, water cooled, etc.. Yet these old bikes still lay waste to most of the newer stuff. I love when the loud and slow bikes pull up to the stop lights. Almost every one of them say they used to have a Z1 or Kz1000 etc., so I give them a refresher on how well they run.

Your bike may also not be running right. If it won't zing all the way to redline without any sputtering, popping or bucking, it is not running right.

Looks wise I think it's perfect.
Not as comfy as the stock seat but way more comfortable than my $600.00 Sargent seat on my ducati, and that was a improvement over the stock seat.
So feels great to me.
Probably sell the stock seat and buy more parts.
Looking for a oil cooler and fittings now.

Got some work done on it.
The new front is on.
Forks are rebuilt with 3/4 " spacers.
I welded brackets on the upper tree and a steering stop / steering damper bracket.
Polished everything and put some new rubber on it.
Starting on the rear next.

Just did a test fit. There is no way that zx7 swingarm will fit.
Even if I took all I safely could off the swingarm and frame I would still need 3/8 .
Guess I will start shopping for a zx6 or 636 swingarm.
Glad I smoothed and polished this one first.
Probably scrap it with the zx7 frame.
