This however could be a problem lol! My Japanese is pretty average (okay, none existant. Wiring up the reg/rec combo is going to take a bit of research. Any one done this before?

Coming up three weeks of lock down here in New Zealand. Been trying to make the most of a shit situation and have got a shit load of jobs done around the house and in the shed. On the Z1R front the wiring loom is in place, switch blocks have been connected, rec/reg unit is wired in, and the odds n ends of the wiring have been sorted. Still need a few connectors to finish the job and a battery to see if actually all works. That will have to wait until the world comes back to normal, fingers crossed.

After all the chopping, sealing, joining, and general fettling, this is what is not being used for the Kiwi Z1R.

Even managed to paint a good chunk of the new shed! Still got a few work benches to make and some carpet for winter and it'll be like home.

Hi guys, midnight tonight and New Zealand drops down to level 2 which means we can leave the house, go to work, and travel freely around the country. After seven weeks at home I am ready to get out and about again! Hope you are all doing okay out there.

So....what have I been doing with my time over lock down? Built a giant box fort in the lounge, painted the ceilings, attended alot of Zoom and Teams meetings for work, and worked on the Z1R!

The big job was finishing the wiring work. I was stoked when I finally turned the key and everything worked! Except the horn, which took me ages to sort. Funnily enough, all it needed was an earth since I have fitted coated bars. Sorted!

I received the last of my polished parts from Wanganui Electroplaters. Top bloke Dave and I highly recommend them if you are in NZ and in need of polishing etc.

The bit I have been working towards for a few years now finally arrived! Start up time. I was soooo nervous, worrying about the motor, the wiring, the carbs, the starter................................................. but she started first pop! What a buzz. I was bouncing of the walls for the rest of the day after that. So now it is just the final few jobs and some final parts to buy and fit and it will be time for a test ride. Bring it on!

This vid is the second start. My brain couldn't focus on filming and starting on the first go lol.
