Wow! looking good larriken! We must have the same taste as I'm going with gloss black wheels, and have also bought the tarozzi fork brace...got the rear sets as well.

Haha great minds think alike! Would love a set of the Tarozzi rear sets, might have to save up for them.

Motor time so I am working through my pile of parts to figure out what I bits I have collected will be used to be the basis for the new motor. As the bike came without and engine and finding a complete one in New Zealand is like trying to find rocking horse shit, I have collected up what I hope is all the right bits n bobs to build a complete motor. Fingers crossed!

Dug the two head up that I have one looks like it has had a reasonable thrashing over it's life and has since had the plug holes welded up. Guessing they had started to crack, if you look at the photo of where the guides go in they are cracked as well. The other head has a snapped fin but looks to be in better nick. Just need to pull the valves out and have a proper look.

What do the welds look like on the other side?

Funny story is that I dropped off the seat to get recovered and the owner of the shop takes a look at the old cover and the code on the inside of it and says that he covered the same seat 18 years earlier!

Guess what!!! I'm back you lucky buggers. Due to a job change, family, and a lack of funds, the Z1R has been in a state of limbo for the last year. Sad I know but one thing I have done is have the bottom end of the motor completely rebuilt. I got it back last week and it has got me fired up again. I was really lucky to have the services of a superb mechanic that owned the local Kawasaki dealership in my hometown in the seventies. He has done such a great job I feel I should have paid him more Lol!

Welcome back! It is good to se some progress.

Hey guys, after a very, very, very, long time I dusted off the ol girl to get started again! What have I done? ............okay not much. I fitted the front fender finally. At least it's a start.

Look what's hiding on the work bench! The brakes I started rebuilding over a year ago lol. They are next on my list. Honest.

This bad boy isvthe reason for my distraction over the last year. Started rebuilding it and went a bit nuts. Nearly finished my panelvan so at least that's out of my system lol.

Is that a Falcon Ute? Very cool!
