Looks like your well on your way to fulfilling a dream... Nice work and the paint looks right from here.

I would like to ask a favor while your at this stage and things are accessible.

I am building a KZ1R Modified/clone and I need some measurements for mounting the Z1R seat and tail lock, specifically I really need template drawings of the front two pocket brackets and the aft latch bracket also locating measurements from say o/c of the cross bar or something shared with the KZ frame.

One more thing, if you do get rid of the after market side cover I still need both so PM me a price should you let it go please.

my project:

Let me know what else you need.

On a complete side note if you noticed the big ol Victory bagger in the background in a few shots......................it's finally finished and going back to it's owner. Least I get me bench back. Came out pretty good too!

Hey Larriken, I've been meaning to ask. What oil do you use for engine break in after a rebuild?

I think the recommended is 10w-40 but I always use the heavier 20w-50.

I'm after a specific brand / type, I understand synthetic is a no no, I was just hoping you had a tried and true, go to option that was readily available in NZ. Please and thank you.

I just did a little research, Castrol GTX 20w-50 looks like a good option

I am surprised that you have not already gotten 5-600 replies to this oil question.

Some say to use the cheapest crap around.
Some say to use name brand regular oil (non-synthetic)
Some swear by this-

I stopped using Castrol two years ago. They changed the formulation. Not good for the clutch. I run Rotilla and it stopped burning oil. No problems. Instead of using cheap oil, I can get a gallon for $13. Might as well use the good stuff at that price. B)
